East Haddam Elementary School
Situated in picturesque Moodus-East Haddam, our elementary school serves approximately 300 preschool through third-grade students. At EHES, learning and fun go hand-in-hand. Our wonderful teachers use creative instructional methods to foster student growth and build a foundation for academic success.

Attendance
It is the parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to call the school to report an absence and the reason for your child missing school. Please call the office at 860-873-5076 or leave a voicemail before or after school hours at 860-873-5078; provide the student’s name, grade, and reason for absence.
Will your child be absent, tardy, dismissed early, or picked up at the regular dismissal time rather than take their bus home? Scan the QR code to get the digital Note from Home to School.
Please note that written documentation for a student’s absence must be submitted to the office and must include the date and reason for absence and the signature of the parent/guardian. In cases of chronic absenteeism, increased tardiness, or early dismissals, families will receive written notification.
Weather Emergencies
We announce all emergency school closings and weather delays through Parent Square and our local television and radio stations. Please ensure your contact information is up to date in our system so that you receive these notices.
Parents, please have an emergency childcare plan in place for unexpected weather delays and closings.
