Welcome Letter from New Principal, Dr. Northcutt
Greetings Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School Team,
I am thankful for the opportunity to introduce myself as the principal of Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School. I am privileged to work and learn alongside you this year. I look forward to visiting your classrooms and witnessing greatness firsthand. I am excited to contribute to our school’s mission to cultivate lifelong learners who are prepared to become independent, creative, and productive citizens in an ever-changing and diverse global society.
My commitment lies in promoting inclusivity, fostering academic excellence, and nurturing a positive climate and culture through empathy, ensuring both students and staff can thrive in a safe environment. I strongly believe in the power of collaboration and teamwork and look forward to incorporating your thoughts, voice, and ideas. Throughout my leadership journey, I have seen the immense value of partnering with all school personnel to enrich students’ learning experiences and outcomes. I eagerly anticipate collaborating with you and relying on your institutional knowledge to continue fostering an exceptional educational environment.
On a personal note, you will see my family at school and community events, as they are an integral part of my life. My husband is a firefighter in Middletown, my eldest daughter is exploring her independence, and my youngest daughter is starting to perfect the art of rolling over. They are often a topic of my conversations.
Earlier today, I had the pleasure of visiting the community and interacting with students who enrolled in summer camp. This firsthand experience has only increased my excitement for the upcoming school year. East Haddam is a beautiful place, and I truly believe its students will change the world. I look forward to fully immersing myself in the community and getting to know all of you personally, whether trading stories about our lives or discussing our teaching philosophy. Please know that I welcome your ideas, questions, and feedback.
Thank you for welcoming me. I look forward to building on the current success of Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School with you.
Warm regards,
Rayna Northcutt
