Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School

Part of the East Haddam Public School district, Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School serves fourth through eighth-grade students in Moodus and East Haddam, Connecticut. Our dedicated staff work as a team to provide a positive learning environment and high-quality educational experience for every student at NHRMS.

Please review our student handbook for information about our site policies and procedures.

A Team Approach

We divide students into grade level teams with their own group of teachers, special education resources, and paraprofessionals to help students develop meaningful relationships during their formative middle years.

Our teachers often plan interdisciplinary learning units and projects to enhance student success as they build core academic skills, connect ideas across curricular areas, and develop a love for learning. This relevant, differentiated approach includes instruction in fine arts, wellness, technology, citizenship, and character.

We have a lot of information available for parents on this website. We encourage you to check out the Parents quick link at the very top of this page for quick access to the information you need to keep your family organized.

It is the parent's/guardian's responsibility to notify the school if your child is/or will be absent.

Please call the office at (860) 873-5081, scan the QR code, or use this attendance form to notify us if your child will be absent, tardy, dismissed early, or picked up at the regular dismissal time rather than take their bus home.

In cases of chronic absenteeism, increased tardiness, or early dismissals, families will receive written notification.
