Technology
The Technology Department works closely with staff and students to deliver reliable technology designed to enhance the learning experience at East Haddam Schools. Our goal is to create a learning environment that utilizes the best available technology to enrich and improve student learning as well as improve administrative operations.
EHPS is a 1:1 device district. We will issue students a school-owned Chromebook, charger, and carrying case. Please make sure your child’s device is sent to school each day fully charged. At the elementary level, these devices are mainly used in the classroom to supplement learning and practice tech skills. Occasionally, they are sent home for learning purposes and accompanied with log-in information.
Appropriate Use
The internet can be a wonderful resource for teachers and students. However, we recognize that it can also pose risks, which is why we provide filters on all of our computers throughout the district. We also encourage parents and family members to help monitor children’s online use while at home.
Digital Citizenship
We practice good digital citizenship by being safe, responsible, and respectful users of technology. Staff will model these through instruction and interaction with students.
