East Haddam Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified, visionary, educational leader to serve as superintendent. The board desires a successful candidate to assume the responsibilities of the position on January 1, 2024.
The successful candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities needed to lead the district. The board seeks a leader with proven excellence in educational and operational leadership, communication, and community engagement.

Focus groups are open to all East Haddam residents and staff of East Haddam Public Schools.
Walk ins are welcome if you do not have the opportunity to pre-register.
Search Committee Members and Charge
Search Committee Charge & Responsibility:
The East Haddam Superintendent Search Committee is charged with identifying and recommending the most qualified candidates to the East Haddam Board of Education for final review and possible appointment. The search committee core is an eleven-member committee with representatives from the Board of Education, Board of Finance, The Ray Board & Purple Fund, CIP Commission, administration, teachers, and staff. The search committee will gather input from the search committees focus groups, which will consist of a wide variety of representatives including stakeholders, administration, faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, and community members at large. The search committee has provided a basic timeline for the search and will provide regular updates. The search committee will be a committee of integrity and confidentiality. This committee has a shared understanding that internal meetings and discussions remain confidential before and after any recommendations to the East Haddam Board of Education. This is done to uphold the integrity of the search process and create a safe space for honest and open dialogue while protecting potential applicants' privacy.
