East Haddam School Building Committee Meeting

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order by Todd Moss at 7:00 p.m. at the Nathan Hale High School – Room 117.

Executive Session

Mr. Moss apologized for the short notice of the meeting. He stated of the importance of clarification of property negotiation and strategies. He introduced Randy Dill, Board of Selectman and thanked him for attending the meeting. Committee members discussed the merits of executive session. Committee members referred to the Provisions of General Applications, Freedom of Information Act pages 348 - 351 for further clarification.

Motion by Mrs. Budzik to go into Executive session @7:10 p.m, inviting Randy Dill and Ruth Ziobron to attend, for purposes of discussing property negotiation and strategies. Seconded by Ms. Mordecai and passed unanimously.

Motion made by Mrs. Ziobron to come out of executive session @ 9:01 p.m. Seconded by Ms. Mordecai and passed unanimously.     

No action was taken or decisions made.

Randy Dill reminded the Committee that strategy negotiations discussed in executive session would remain in confidence. Mrs. Ziobron informed the Committee that she had attended the School Building Conference in Rocky Hill and would bring information to the next meeting. Mr. Moss informed the Committee that the surveyors were 75% complete with the field work, had started flagging the wetlands and had sent a bill to the Selectman’s office for $13,000 which Mr. Moss had approved. Mrs. Budzik questioned Mr. Moss if he would be writing a letter to open space. He responded affirmatively. Mr. Moss stated that he had received a letter from Jan Lombardo providing a list of all property owners abutting the building site. Mrs. Budzik stated that she would draft an informational letter to be sent to them.

Motion by Mr. Barnes at 9:06p.m. to adjourn. Seconded by Mrs. Ziobron and passed unanimously.
