Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Dana Barnes at 7:01 p.m. at the Nathan Hale High School – Room 117.

Approval of Minutes
Motion by Mrs. Mordecai to table the minutes to the next meeting.
Seconded by Mrs. Ziobron and carried by
unanimous vote.

Old Business
Sub Committee / Liaison Report
Mrs. Ziobron informed the Committee that she and Todd Moss had attended the Planning and Zoning Hearing. She stated that a few neighbors from Clark Gates Road had voiced concern with off site costs. She stated that the Milone & MacBroom traffic report was reiterated. Mrs. Ziobron informed the Committee that Planning and Zoning agreed to table their vote until June 15th before the town meeting. Mrs. Ziobron stated that the Planning and Zoning appeared to be favorable to the proposed school. The Committee discussed having the land studied by qualified people for possible vernal pools.
Board of Finance Update
Craig Parker informed the Committee that the Board of Finance requested the Committee negotiate the reductions of the following line items: construction costs, architect fees, testing inspections, property acquisition and utility connection. He stated that these reductions would equal a net difference of $800,000. He stated that the Board of Finance supports a plan maximizing the reimbursement rate with a second vote for a tournament sized gymnasium. He stated that the reduction in bonding cost estimates also contributes to the reduction in school budget estimates and that construction cost reductions include deduction from some redundancy in “General Conditions” and net capital cost reduction in flat fees based on fixed percentages.
Mrs. Ziobron discussed with the Committee maximizing the State reimbursement rate by ensuring a school floor plan equal to 95,914 square feet. She informed the Committee of the Lake Hayward forum on June 10th, 2004. Mrs. Ziobron reviewed a flyer which Shirley Judge’s 4-8 Pac would be mailing out to the public. She informed the Committee that Mrs. Judge was looking for volunteers and donations to contribute to a second mailing.
KBA Update Newfield Update
The Committee agreed to contact KBA for contract negotiations. It was discussed that a Subcommittee would meet regarding negotiations with KBA. Mrs. Ziobron stated that she reviewed the updated map with Mr. and Mrs. Braun showing shifting playfields and emergency access.
Appraisal
Update
Mr. Moss informed the Committee that the second land appraisal had been completed.

Mr. Moss distributed and discussed the following documentation:
New Business
Information Flyer
The Committee discussed the formulation of an informational flyer to be sent out prior to the referendum. Denise Gable agreed to contact the town’s attorney to proof read for accuracy and to collate the information for mailing. Mrs. Mordecai agreed to set up a common e-mail address for comments intended for Building Committee members.
Town Meeting Prep
Committee members discussed how they would present the Town Meeting on June 17th, 2004 at 8:00p.m in the High School Auditorium.
Determination of Next Meeting
Motion by Mrs. Ziobron for a special Meeting on Thursday, June 17th,
2004 at 6:30 p.m. at the High School, room 117. Seconded by Mr. Barnes and passed unanimously.
Other Discussions
Committee members discussed inaccurate information in the “Hartford Current”. Public Relation efforts were discussed.

Motion by Mr. Moss at 8:40 p.m. to adjourn. Seconded by Mrs. Ziobron and passed unanimously.
